Aesthetic operations in which only the cartilage and soft tissues at the tip of the nose are shaped without touching the nasal bones are called “ nasal tip aesthetics ” or “ tip plasty ”.
Nasal tip aesthetics is a type of rhinoplasty and is basically performed for the purpose of regulating the lip and nose tip angle. Natural results are obtained with nasal tip aesthetics, which is the most effective way to achieve an ideal appearance for people who have no problems with their nasal bones but think that the shape of the nose tip or nostrils affects their facial expression negatively.
This criterion does not apply to persons with congenital anomalies or who have been traumatized. The operation can be performed especially for patients who experience physical complications that prevent breathing.
With nasal tip aesthetics, the shape of the nose will change and this change will inevitably affect the facial expression of the person directly. People who take instant decisions or who are not ready for this change psychologically may not be accepted for the operation.

One of the most common procedures within the scope of nasal tip aesthetics is nasal tip lifting. People who do not have any defect on the back of the nose but complain of low nasal tip can have a more aesthetic appearance as nasal tip lift surgery. There are general problems in the nose structure and it is difficult for people who have only nose tip lift surgery to achieve a natural appearance.
Within the scope of nasal tip lift operations, the nasal cartilages can be reshaped, the angle between the nose tip and the lip can be restructured, and new cartilage tissues can be added to the nasal tip. The most commonly used method for nose tip lifting is known as grafting. In order to give height to the tip of the nose, cartilages taken from the ear or ribs are placed on the tip of the nose and the tissue deficiency is closed.
In order for nasal tip lift surgeries to be successful, first of all, the main factors that cause nasal tip droop must be determined. Factors such as blows to the nose, advancing age, mistakes made during previous rhinoplasty operations, and the pressure of the cartilage at the tip of the nose as a result of the thick nasal skin can cause nasal tip droop.
In tip plasty surgery, no intervention is made to the nasal bone. Only the cartilages at the tip of the nose are reshaped.
There is no fall or collapse in the nose after tip plasty surgery. The results of the surgery are permanent for life as long as there is no severe external blow.
Silicone tampons are used in tip plasty surgery. These tampons are removed 1 day after the operation.
